February is supposed to be about romance, right? Flowers, chocolates, candlelit dinners… the usual. But if we are being honest, the real love of my life has four legs, fur on everything I own, and zero respect for personal space.
This Valentine’s month, instead of buying another heart-shaped box of chocolates, I decided to do something that truly says I love you in cat language.
I built a
cat tree tower.
And yes… this might be the most romantic thing I have done all month….or season long.
Piece by piece, tightening screws, adjusting platforms, imagining all the future naps, stretches, and dramatic window stares that are about to happen, I build it. Meanwhile, my cat supervised the entire process like a tiny project manager, occasionally testing the stability by climbing it before it was fully finished.
Once it was finally standing, tall and proud in the corner of the room, it instantly became her new favorite place.
High views? Check.
Cozy hideaways? Absolutely.
Prime location for bird watching and silent judgment? Perfect.
A cat tower is basically the ultimate Valentine’s gift. It is comfort, entertainment, and enrichment all in one. A space that’s completely theirs. Somewhere to nap in sunbeams, scratch to their heart’s content, and feel like the royalty they clearly believe they are.
What I love most about adding something like this to our home is how much it changes their world without changing yours. Suddenly they have vertical space. A sense of territory. A place to retreat when the house gets busy, or climb when they’re feeling playful. It is enrichment, but also security. And that’s a big kind of love in cat form.
And because love is even better when it’s shared…
This month the
Military Cat Club is giving five lucky cats a tower of their very own.
Yes, five of you get to spoil your cat with a brand new throne.
That being said, if your cat deserves a Valentine’s upgrade (and they all do), make sure you enter in for your chance to win. Whether your cat is a climber, a napper, a window watcher, or a professional cardboard box enthusiast, this might just become their new favorite place in the house.
This Valentine’s Day isn't about roses and reservations. It’s about scratching posts, sunbeams, and giving your cat a place to rule their kingdom.
Happy Valentine’s Month to you and your very spoiled cats
