The first cool breeze of fall hit me the other morning, and instantly I was digging through the closet for that soft blanket I hadn’t touched since spring. The sun was golden, the air smelled faintly of leaves - and right on cue, Luna decided it was her time to shine as queen of all things cozy.
Now, Luna is a year-round nap professional, but in autumn? She takes her lounging to championship level. I decided to give her the ultimate fall napping spot, one worthy of her royal standards.
I picked the perfect location: right by the big window in the living room where the afternoon sun spills across the floor. I layered a thick, soft fleece blanket (freshly washed but still smelling like home) and tucked her favorite toy mouse in the corner. Since she loves being up high, I set her bed on a sturdy side table so she could watch the world, and the squirrels, go by.
Then came the warmth factor. I found a self-warming bed that reflects her own body heat, and on special days, I toss her blanket in the dryer for a few minutes before she hops in. The way she curls up and lets out that deep, happy sigh? Totally worth it.
For ambiance, I added a flickering cat-safe LED candle on the shelf nearby and ran the diffuser with a pet-safe lavender scent. The whole space feels like a little feline spa retreat.
Now, every afternoon, I find Luna in her spot - eyes half-closed, paws tucked, dreaming of chasing leaves. Honestly, I think I’m just as happy about her cozy nook as she is.
